Summarization
This report allows you to generate a summarized version of your billing report. You can summarize your billing report in a multitude of ways, which can be exported into Excel, where you can perform pivot tables to further mine the data.To open the report, open the master payer AWS account setup within CloudCheckr. Within that account select Cost > AWS Billing > Summarization from the report navigation on the left.
Configuring the Report
The first step is to determine the date range that you would like to summarize your data against by choosing a start and end date.Next, choose which fields, including tags, from the billing report that you would like to Summarize. You can click the binoculars icon above the 'Group By:' list to view a pop-up that allows you to search and select whichever values you would like to use for your summarization.
Saved Filters
You can save the configuration of your Summarization at any time by clicking on the Saved Filter button at the bottom of the report. Once you click the button you'll be presented with a pop-up where you can give your filter a name.You can view and generate summarizations from any of your Saved Filters at any time by clicking on the Saved Filters drop-down at the top of the report and selecting your desired configuration.
Generating Summarization
Once you have a summarization configured that you would like to export, you simply need to click the 'Start Summarization' button at the bottom of the page.When you start the summarization CloudCheckr will being querying the monthly billing reports for whichever days you've selected, pulling out the relevant data. It will summarize the data into a CSV file. A link to download this CSV will be delivered to the email address(es) specified during the configuration process.The link will be available for download for 5 days, after which it will be deleted.
Summarization History
In addition to being emailed the download link to the summarization, the Summarization will also maintain a history of your summarizations. You'll be able to see the date the summarization was created, as well as key report parameters including Date Range and Groupings. The direct download link will also be listed in the History table in the event that an email is deleted.
